Thursday, 04.05.12: Dare2Tri Athletes coming tonight!

dare2tri
Dare2tri (www.dare2tri.org) is a Paratriathlon club in the Chicago area that serves youth, adults and injured service members who have a physical disability such as amputation, spinal cord injury, stroke, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy as well as those with visual impairments or blindness. The club gets athletes with a physical diasability to the starting line of a triathlon and helps them acheive things they never thought possible.
Atlas CrossFit and Dare2Tri are coming together to make CrossFit available to athletes of all ability levels tonight at the box.

On April 5th, (tonight!) we invite athletes of EVERY disability level to join us at Atlas CrossFit to see how CrossFit can be modified for each individual.

We have 16 athletes from Dare2Tri joining us tonight at 5:30pm to participate in their very first CrossFit workout!  Please come to support and join if you can.

Thanks and see you tonight!

Monday, 03.26.12: SKILLS WEEK!

newbies

After a tough 5 weeks, Atlas will take this week as a recovery week and to work on SKILLZ!  You put your trust into us each and everyday with your programming and we feel that taking some recovery weeks are CRUCIAL for your overall development as an athlete.  While we will take this week as a de-loading week and give the heavy lifting a break, we will have some dedicated time to work on various skills and even put some time into breaking down some basic lifts with lower weight.  Conditioning will be bodyweight based and allow us to step back and really take time to make sure we are doing things the right way (no emphasis on the clock or whiteboard)!  Questions? Email us at info@atlascrossfit.com.

Congrats to all who completed in the Open – winners will be announced soon!
